REFLECTION 2

ASSESSMENT SAMPLE  FOR TODDLERS

We were having a lecture as usual and discussing another topics of this course. Our lecturer giving us an excellent explanation about the topic and give clear example for better understanding. Moreover, our lecturer held some activity which is, we are required to do an appropriate and suitable assessment for children aged 3 to 4 years old. Picture above are the same like I did and unfortunately, I had lost the class activity sheet.

My reflection about these class activity is, I think it is good way for our lecturer to approach students progress where he giving out an activity and assess it right away. As we know, student would postpone their work and would do it last minutes. Furthermore, all student who taking this course would know how to do and well-educate about how to prepared an assessment that suitable with all children age and abilities. Besides that, I choose to do match and count activities for toddlers because our lecturer told us that these kind of assessment is fulfill children needs. Toddlers cannot do complex worksheet, so, as a future teacher, we should do simple task but giving them meaningful learning experiences.

  1. for me, assessment very important because to know the student abilities such as from what they learning or from the knowledge. so, we have the same reason for why our lecture do this activity in class to approach students progress then, their student will not postpone their work and do last minute.

  2. Hi yunita! I am glad for having you to give me some feedback on my writing. Yes, its absolutely true. With us assessing the children as the same way like our lecturer did, it will shape the children naturally to be more discipline in doing task/ work given.

  4. Hi CikguBaby! Thanks for leaving feedback. It is important to give them a suitable task according to their ages and abilities, so that we could assess them accurately and this would help us to improve our teaching and the way we approach the children.

  5. Hi noora! I agreed with your statement. To see the progress of the student, we assess them through tests and the extent to which they can dominate in the learning.
