REFLECTION 5

Based on the fifth lecture, my classmate and I had learn about test construction, multiple-choice test and also competency assessment. I would not talk a lot on this reflection, but we do have discussion about how to construct a test and our lecturer briefly explained about the type of test item such as true-false, short answer, fill in the blanks, essay, and etc. Moreover, our lecturer did ask us about the formative and summative assessment. He simply asked us, if we do an assessment, did we use the summative of formative assessment. In my opinion, both summative and formative should be applied in the learning and teaching process. Depend too much on one or the other and the reality of student achievement of the whole classroom would become unclear. Furthermore, when a comprehensive assessment program at the classroom level balances formative and summative students learning/achievement information, a clear picture emerged of where a students is relative to learning targets and standards. In the other hand, student should be able to articulate this shared information about their own learning.

  1. Hey deva, I'm agree with your opinion which is you said, both summative and formative should be applied in the learning and teaching process . I think ,as who become a teacher , we need using both of this planning assessment because it is a traditional way to evaluate the student rather than evaluate their learning .

  2. Hi Zadiqah! Yes, we should use both new and traditional way to evaluate the student performance, so that we will have an accurate result about the student understanding for each of the lesson that we teach.thanks for giving a feedback! :)
